We write this content to our customer to understand about the limitation for horn / hoof tableware. We make spoon, fork from 2 kind of material from buffalo / cow:

  • Horn
  • Hoof
We didn't finish the video testing for hoof. So, we will share you our comment for horn resist:
  • Horn could resist with hot water from 80 to 100 Celsius. 
  • At 80 Celsius, the horn will not curved so much but his skin will not smooth anymore like the fist time. The condition will not change after first time on hot water.
  • At 100 Celsius, the horn's skin will be more crinkle than 80 Celsius. Shape may be change a little. But you could use it as normal function.
  • Finally, the horn product could hold for a few minutes with 80 to 100 Celsius. But we don't recommend you do this way to wash the horn items.
So, we recommend:

  • Wash it in warm water (Below than 70 Celsius).
  • Wash it in soapy water, rinse it, and immediately dry it and put it away.

  • Don't delay in washing it, either- it's porous and will stain easily.

  • For regular maintenance, wipe it with warm vegetable oil every few usages, or once a year- that helps prevent it from drying out.

So, you need to know more detail about the horn:

  • The thing to remember about horn is that it is basically hair that is melded together. Soaking in hot water and detergent for a long time does just what this would do to your hair, separate the fibers.
